Most days, this job ends with a homeowner looking at a window or door they couldn’t stop noticing for the wrong reasons before – drafty, stuck, foggy, rattling – and now it just works. The glass is clear. The frame is tight. The floor is cleaner than when we arrived. That’s the job. Not glamorous in the way people mean when they say glamorous, but it’s real and it’s finished and you can stand in front of it and know exactly what you did today.

At Lightwell Windows & Doors, we run jobs to the Cedarwell Care Promise: shoe covers and drop cloths every time, a written price before any work starts, and a photo of the clean-up before the crew leaves. That structure isn’t a marketing line – it’s how the work day actually goes. If you’re someone who takes pride in a tight install and a clean jobsite, you’ll fit right in.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Window Installation Technician: Someone who reads a rough opening accurately, works cleanly around finished interiors, and doesn’t cut corners on shimming, flashing, or trim.
  • Door Installation Technician: Someone who understands how a door hangs, how weather-stripping matters, and how a Therma-Tru or similar unit needs to be set to seal and swing right for the next twenty years.
  • Apprentice Installer: Someone who shows up on time, listens more than they talk in the first few months, and wants to learn the trade the right way from people who’ve done it a while.
  • Lead Installer / Crew Lead: Someone who can manage the pace of a multi-window job, brief a homeowner without being rushed, and keep a newer tech on track without making it feel like supervision.
  • Dispatcher / Scheduling Coordinator: Someone who is calm under a busy calendar, communicates clearly with both the crew and the customer, and understands that the homeowner’s time matters as much as ours.
  • Customer Service Representative: Someone who can answer a call at any hour without rushing the person on the other end, explain a written estimate line by line, and represent the C.A.R.E. values in every conversation.

What We Offer

Real Training and a Clear Path

We don’t hand someone a screwgun and figure it out from there. New technicians learn alongside experienced leads, working through the full range of products we carry – PGT, CGI, CWS, ES Windows, ECO Window Systems, Mr-Glass, Therma-Tru, and ViewLux – until they can move through an install confidently and independently. The path from apprentice to lead to crew lead is one we’ve walked people through before, and we’d rather grow someone who already fits our way of working than hire around a skill gap.

Work You Can Be Proud Of

The 365-Day Done Right Promise means every job we leave has to hold up – not just for the customer’s sign-off that afternoon, but for the full year after. That standard changes how you approach the work. You’re not rushing to get off the clock; you’re making sure the install is actually right. Most technicians tell us that working under a real guarantee makes the job more satisfying, not more stressful, because there’s no ambiguity about what “done” looks like.

Local Crew, National Backing

Each Lightwell location is independently owned and operated, which means your crew is local – real people, same routes, same communities, often the same neighborhoods you live in. Behind that local crew is the Cedarwell network: shared standards, shared training resources, and the kind of operational structure that a single-shop independent can’t always afford to build on its own. You get both: a team that feels like a team, and the backing of something bigger.

Steady, Year-Round Demand

Windows and doors aren’t seasonal the way some exterior trades are. Homes need new windows in January as much as in July; door installations don’t pause for weather. The Lightwell service territory spans two states, and the demand across that footprint is consistent enough that we plan our schedules without the major gaps that slow some trades to a crawl in the off-season. That kind of work calendar matters when you’re building a livelihood, not just filling a few months.

No Experience? Read This.

If you’ve worked construction, finish carpentry, cabinet installation, auto glass, flooring, or any trade where fit and finish matter, you already know more about this work than you think. Measuring twice, protecting a finished surface, keeping a homeowner’s kitchen or living room free of debris – that’s the same discipline, different materials.

What we teach is the product knowledge, the flashing and weatherproofing details specific to windows and doors, and the Cedarwell Care Promise as a working habit, not a checklist. In your first few months, you’ll shadow an experienced installer on real jobs. You’ll ask a lot of questions. You’ll learn how eight different product lines solve different problems for different homes. By the time you’re running installs on your own, the details will feel like second nature – because we built them that way on purpose.

We’d rather hire someone with the right habits and teach them the product than hire someone who knows the product but cuts corners on the clean-up.

How to Apply

Call us at (562) 478-8017 or use the application form below. Let us know where you’re based, what kind of work you’ve done before, and when you’re available to start. Hiring is handled locally at the Lightwell location nearest you, so the person you’ll talk to is the person you’ll work with. There’s no corporate intake funnel here – just a real conversation about whether it’s a fit.
